David F. Elmer

David F. Elmer is Assistant Professor of the Classics at Harvard University and Assistant Curator of the Milman Parry Collection of Oral Literature. In addition to South Slavic oral traditions, his research interests include the Homeric poems and the ancient novel. He has published articles in the journals Classical Antiquity, Classical Philology, and Transactions of the American Philological Association. An essay comparing the poetics of South Slavic and Homeric epic will appear in the Journal of American Folklore.
